Alex received his PhD in Bioengineering from the University of Washington in 2016. His research focused on stem cell biology, cardiac tissue engineering, and biomaterial nano/microfabrication. He developed a novel, patent-pending platform for the engineering of 3D tissues with controllable architectures. Using this developed platform, Alex engineered biomimetic skeletal muscle and cardiac tissues.
